Lake Garda East Coast - Punta San Vigilio Beach

The Eastern coast of Lake Garda benefits from a couple of hours of sun exposure more than the Western coast, in the evenings. The beach is generally made of small rocks, and very thin. The lake becomes pretty deep just a few metres from the coast. The best beaches, not over-crowded, can be found from Punta San Vigilio to Torri del Benaco. The water is clean, though - in my opinion - not as much as Sirmione's.

How to get to the beach.
Reaching Punta San Vigilio is very easy. Coming from Peschiera del Garda, just go ahead: you will pass through Lazise, Bardolino, Garda. Between Garda and Torri del Benaco you will find Punta San Vigilio and the other beaches I am talking about.
The main problem is finding a car park: the is a pay car park at Punta San Vigilio, but most people choose to park on the right side of the road. This is not allowed, though usually tolerated. If you decide to do so, you must be very careful because your car might be a danger for people walking on the road. You have the choice to park your car safely in Torri del Benaco and walk a little bit more.

While sunbathing, the road is just behind you: and it's noisy. On some beaches many people, mostly males, practice naturism.
